Presented here is the completed final piece, representing the culmination of my MA and this resultant blog.
The production of the final project can be compartmentalized into four distinct sections, accounting for changes in the techniques employed and for the overall tone of the piece.
The Classic (1963-1989) series and New (2005-) series of ‘Doctor Who’ are two very different shows. The former put more emphasis on science fiction, whilst the latter is more of an action/adventure series.
Here I have constructed an animatic test piece, combining storyboarded images with a demo audio track representing a rough approximation of how the final piece will look and sound. I have also included some test footage in which I have utilized a CRT TV screen, trialing its aesthetic.
‘Doctor Who’ has been alive in the public consciousness for over 50 years now. Unfortunately, with success and longevity comes marketability and profitability. Continue reading
